The animal sanctuary is one of the biggest and most popular in the North Manchester area. Helping to re-home dogs, cats, rabbits etc. Open to the public everyday 10-4 except Christmas day. The centre is located on a hillside overlooking the Irwell Valley. This can mean that the weather is usually windy or rainy, and its best to visit on a sunny day as most of it is outside. There is a small independent indoor cafe run by volunteers. Also there’s a very small shop selling mainly animal food and toys. We’ve had a cat from Bleakholt for at least 5 years now and have had no problems so far. If you wanted you can help out with the dog walking on a Saturday.
