I think it is appalling that dogs in need of a loving home are missing out due to being left alone for over four hours. When we decided we wanted to buy a dog, we went to the animal sanctuarys but becuase we both work we were unable to adopt. Instead, we opted to buy a dog who is left at home for over four hours a day but is happy, healthy and well cared for! Our dog is left alone from 7:45 am until 3:15pm each day, she has a warm cosy bed, plenty of toys and is walked morning and evening with extra long walks on the weekends. We would love to adopt another dog instead of buying one but are not allowed due to these restrictions and so instead of being home with us the dogs are left in outside kennels all day with what would undoubtedly be less human contact per day than our dog has.
