To me a day at the Borough Markets is like being in food heaven! One of my favourite markets in London. The food doesn't come cheap but there are many little samples to tantalise your tastes. The array of fresh food and drink available here is impressive. Vegetarians don't go hungry either! And for the meat eaters- there are even some more exotic meats up for try. (e.g Ostrich burgers). Lots of organic produce at this market. Let your nose and eyes guide you. A great place to bring friends or fa (more...)

Nostalgia or for that matter leather gloves (£150) don't come cheap in this Palace of the Artful Dodger Paul Smith Really if I see anybody wearing those dumpy looking sweat shirts with Paul Smith branded on the chest, I think I'll shoot on sight. Because he is totally delusional about the his own name and the value it adds to the chests of boys and girls, doesn't mean you have to be. Remember its profits for him and what do you get? an old sackcloth of a sweat shirt with a commonplace name on (more...)

Wonderful Market, great range of stalls so everyone should be able to find something of interest. I would recommend visiting on thursday or friday though and staying away on saturday as it can get stressful at the weekend with the sheer number of people.

Near to the London Bridge and easy to access, this market offer a variety of good quality food from many countries. As I'm french, I'd loved to go there to find good cheese, cooked meats, bread, vegetables... Quite busy place but lovely to share with friends, family... For tourists: there is the best Fish&Chips that I ever ate with real chips hand cooked and fresh fish

I don't know if a food market can really qualify as a tourist destination, but it's one of the first places I suggest my London visitors discover. Packed full of delicious, organic food sourced from local growers the choice is immense and most stall holders are happy to let you sample as you go. Start a visit to the market by picking up a latte from Monmouth Coffee, and happily snack your way through! Open Thursday - Saturday.
